-Course Description
With prerequisite of , SE103, this course is for deep understanding of various subjects in classical mechanics and for applying analytical methods to solve related problems. Differential equations, multivariable functions, linear algebra and others would be introduced and utilized in the course. The subjects related to analytical methods are not prerequite but recommended before or during this course. Motion of particles, oscillations, motions in non-inertial systems, motions with gravitational force or central forces, and motions of rigid body would be deeply covered with the help of Newtonian mechanics. Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics would be also introduced to help to understand the modern physics including quantum mechanics.
-Course Objectives
Understand Newtonian mechanics and able to apply the concepts to solve problems with analytical methods. Understand the formalism of Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics.
